provides a rainbow which sets a framework for 21st century education. I could reexplain it here, or just send you to the horse's mouth. Check out this
of information. Note that the foundation of the rainbow includes proper learning environments, professional development, curricular instruction, and standards/assessment. The green section the content areas of the core subjects with an aim towards rigor, relevancy, and connections using 21st century themes. Below You will find my own thoughts on transforming the curriculum with 21st century skills.In this diagram I have attempted to illustrate how technology, real world application, and educational innovation must be included for transformation to occur. The foundation of real learning must include PD, positive learning culture, resources, assessment, and planning that is student centered. Through this, the adopted standards for core subject areas are transformed into authentic learning as 21st century skill development is used to facilitate core and high level understanding of content, its application, and its connection to the real world and other disciplines. A result of this includes those important 21st century skills advocated to insure success in a global future.
Keeping Kids In The Twenty- First Century Engagement Zone

. The above diagram illustrates the work a teacher must do in keeping students engaged. There must be a constant balance that assesses student ability and aligns it with curricular expectation and challenges. When students are not provided proper guidance and facilitation by the teacher, the challenges of mastering content and skills may lead to a frustration level. If content is too easy, redundant, and provides no challenge; students may become apathetic to learning. It is the teachers duty to attempt to facilitate learning through such methods as PBL, differentiation, appropriate integration of technology, and relevant content application. In doing so, students should spend most of their learning hours in the engagement zone!
Revising Bloom Makes Sense In The Twenty-First Century

it was stated that one must go through each step to reach the top. These steps could not be skipped, and in fact each step depended on the prior. In the revision by Anderson and
, it is suggested that there is no dependency on prior skills to build higher skills. In fact, the research pointed out that it was beneficial to learning if students practiced at more then one level at the same time. This ideas becomes important in reference to 21st Century Skill facilitation and Project Based Learning.
